[Rimarinefisheries] Public Notice - Proposed Regulatory Amendments

Regarding the below notice of proposed regulations amendments, specifically in regard to the proposals for 2022 commercial black sea bass management that were noticed, the Division has conducted an analysis for each of the proposals in terms of effects on season closures (attached). Please be advised that the Division of Marine Fisheries has publicly noticed the following regulation(s) to consider proposed amendments:

     *   Summary of Rulemaking Action:

        *   Proposed regulations for 2022 commercial black sea bass management (section 3.9.2(B))
        *   Proposed regulations for Cobia Management (section 3.37)
        *   Proposed purse seine vessel length for Menhaden Management Area (section 3.24.2(A)(2)(b)(4))

  *   Part 14 – Summer Flounder Exemption Certificate Program (250-RICR-90-00-14):<https://rules.sos.ri.gov/promulgations/part/250-90-00-14>

     *   Summary of Rulemaking Action:  Proposed programmatic changes to the Summer Flounder Exemption Certificate Program

The public comment period ends on November 19, 2021, 4:00PM.  The RI Marine Fisheries Council<http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/marine-fisheries/rimfc/RIMFC.php> is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, November 30 to provide their recommendations on the proposed rules to the Director.
