[Ritaxpronews] Rhode Island Tax News – Tax Division awards

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin last night honored six employees of the Rhode Island Division of Taxation for their efforts in cracking a multi-state cigarette-smuggling ring.
 
General Kilmartin presented the 2012 Justice Award to the Tax Division employees during a ceremony at his office in Providence. General Kilmartin recounted details of the case and praised the work of the six Tax Division employees whom he honored: Michael Canole, Donald Englert, James Galvin, Peter McVay, Jacques Moreau, and David Sullivan. (Galvin, who could not attend the ceremony due to a work-related assignment, was honored in absentia.)
 
The awards recognize the recipients' extraordinary commitment to justice and are presented in honor of the eight previous Attorneys General. All of the Tax Division winners were nominated by Rhode Island Department of Revenue Director Rosemary Booth Gallogly.
