Hi, Everyone.
 
The Rhode Island Division of Taxation today posted two Notices regarding the real estate conveyance tax increase that will take effect July 1, 2014:
 
 Notice 2014-07 ( http://www.tax.ri.gov/Tax%20Website/TAX/notice/Notice%202014-07%20--%20Real%20estate%20conveyance%20tax,%20RE%20professionals.pdf ) is aimed mainly at real estate professionals and others.
 Notice 2014-08 ( http://www.tax.ri.gov/Tax%20Website/TAX/notice/Notice%202014-08%20--%20Real%20estate%20conveyance%20tax,%20cities%20and%20towns.pdf ) is for cities and towns.
 
The Division of Taxation has also posted two new Administrative Decisions:
 
 Decision 2014-13 ( http://www.tax.ri.gov/Tax%20Website/TAX/AdministrativeDecisions/2014/2014-13.pdf ) involves the cigarette tax and contraband cigarettes.   
 Decision 2014-14 ( http://www.tax.ri.gov/Tax%20Website/TAX/AdministrativeDecisions/2014/2014-14.pdf ) looks at whether a refund claim was filed on time.
 
In addition, the Division has updated its historic tax credit information page ( http://www.tax.ri.gov/taxcreditreports/historictax2013.php ). 
 
The update shows the latest applicant to sign a contract and pay the required fee (  http://www.tax.ri.gov/taxcreditreports/Historic2013/13-10%20Lippitt%20Mill.pdf ) under the state's 2013 historic preservation tax credit program.
