Hi all – please share with interested parties – especially for training on Thursday in Charlestown
Want to make a difference this summer? Help stop the spread of invasive plants by joining our volunteer team!
Learn how to educate boaters about cleaning off plant debris from their boats, trailers, and gear before and after launching.
Volunteers may greet boaters at any state boat ramp/launch after receiving training.

* Encourage boaters to clean off plant debris
* Collect data on boat traffic and aquatic weeds
* Help protect Rhode Island’s lakes and ponds from invasive species, like hydrilla, that can harm our beautiful waters
All you need is a smartphone or tablet and a commitment of at least two hours per month in June, July, and August. 📲
Register for a training at http://www.dem.ri.gov/boat-ramp-volunteer <https://www.dem.ri.gov/boat-ramp-volunteer >
Together we can help Keep our waters clean—one boat at a time.
Note: there are also facebook events under the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management facebook page
for each event, if folks rather share via social media on facebook rather than via email, but regardless, participants should all register online using the link above to ensure organizers have plenty of materials for training.
Thank you!
