Webinar Description:
This webinar will provide an overview of the process of selecting and designing a proprietary stormwater treatment device for permitting in Rhode Island, with a focus on the StormFilter.  Although this training is specific to RI, the information that will be presented is extremely valuable and relevant for all designers, reviewers, and municipalities interested in learning about implementing proprietary stormwater treatment devices to meet water quality goals and/or Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) requirements on challenging sites.
A representative from Contech Engineered Solutions will go over what the StormFilter is, how it works, and how to determine what size device is needed; along with other design limitations, best practices, maintenance considerations, and more. Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) staff will also provide a description of their process for certifying new proprietary stormwater treatment devices.

Salt marshes are vitally important for many reasons, providing essential habitat for fish and wildlife, protecting communities from storm surge, and storing vast amounts of carbon. Many are threatened by sea level rise and a history of ditching and other alterations. This new GIS-based tool provides information on the condition, trajectory, and migration potential for salt marshes across the Massachusetts coastline. Learn how to use the tool to understand where salt marshes in your area are headed and the options available to protect, restore, or plan for future conditions.
