Online Soil Erosion and Sediment Control (SESC) Training for Rhode Island



OWTS CEUs applicable to Class I, II, III, and IV licenses have been approved for a new online soil erosion and sediment control training series.



This set of four courses has been developed specifically for Rhode Island and addresses the standards and guidance in the updated RI Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook and RI Stormwater Design and Installation Standards Manual.  The courses begin with the fundamental concepts of stormwater management and soil erosion control and explores more in-depth material with each level.



The levels of training and approved CEUs are as follows:



Level 1. RI General Construction Stormwater Awareness (1.5 hours; 1 CEU)

Audience:  Anyone involved with planning, review or implementation of land disturbance activities.



Level 2. Introduction to Stormwater Management for Construction Activities (6 hours; 2 CEUs)

Audience:  Field staff responsible for SESC control measure installation or maintenance.



Level 3. Qualified Compliance Inspector of Stormwater (16 hours; 4 CEUs)

Audience:  Those inspecting SESC control measures.



Level 4. Qualified Preparer of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (18.5 hours; 5 CEUs)

Audience:  Those preparing or reviewing plans.



Prerequisites:

*       None for Level 1.

*       Level 1 is required for Levels 2, 3, or 4.
