[Rimarinefisheries] Amendment of commercial possession limits

An amendment to the RI Marine Fisheries regulations will be filed today, October 30, 2015.  In summary, the change is as follows:

PART III MARINE FISHERIES COUNCIL
7.1 - This amendment is to CLOSE the directed fishery for commercial Atlantic herring - Area IA (2,000 lbs/vessel/calendar day bycatch allowance) beginning  November 2, 2015, until the season re-opens on January 1, 2016 (possession limit unlimited); to OPEN the directed fishery for commercial Atlantic Herring - Area 1B, beginning November 2, 2015 (possession limit unlimited); to CLOSE the commercial Menhaden fishery in state waters outside the Menhaden Management Area beginning November 1, 2015, until further notice; and to CLOSE the commercial Tautog fishery beginning November 2, 2015, until the next fishing season begins on April 15, 2016 at ten (10) fish/vessel/calendar day.  [This regulation amendment becomes effective upon filing].
